Ithaca College Athletics Seniors Eli Gobrecht and Scott Sidnam were named first team All American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) as the Ithaca College men's lacrosse team garnered seven All American. Gobrecht earned the third All American honor of his career as a first team defender, while Sidnam was named first team goalie for the second All American honor of his IC career. Gobrecht was named the William C. Stiles Memorial Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year for Division III, while Sidnam earned the Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award as the Outstanding Goalie of the Year for Division III. Junior John Januszkiewicz and senior Michael Walker earned third team All American honors at attack and midfield, respectively. Junior Jack Shumway and sophomore Jake Cotton were tabbed as Honorable Mention All Americans at attack, while sophomore Winston Wenham landed on the Honorable Mention All American squad on defense. He was named the 2016 Empire 8 Goalie of the Year after posting a 19 2 record in the cage. He allowed 126 goals and made 186 saves in 1,067 minutes, posting a .596 saves percentage and a 7.09 goals against average. Gobrecht, the Empire 8 Player of the Year and a co captain, led the team in caused turnovers (65) and was second nike youth soccer cleats in groundballs (100) while appearing in and starting 21 games on defense. Gobrecht led the Empire 8 in caused turnovers per game and was tied for sixth nationally (3.10). He garnered USILA North Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 21 groundballs with 11 caused turnovers in back to back wins over Cortland and then No. 16 Stevens. Walker was third on the team in assists (16) and sixth in both points (42) and goals (26) as he earned first team All Empire 8, the first all conference honors of his career. Walker, who led the team with six man up goals, appeared in and started 21 games, ranking third on the team in groundballs (46) while also causing six turnovers. Januszkiewicz was second in goals scored (47) and assists (22) and was third in points scored (69) while appearing in 17 games, making 15 starts. He scored a career high eight points on five goals with three assists in a first round NCAA win over Morrisville State, and also had eight points (7G, 1A) in a win over Alfred University. Januszkiewicz, who posted nine games with four or more points, added 33 groundballs and caused seven turnovers. Shumway led the Bombers in goals (56) and was second in points (73) while adding 17 assists. Shumway led the Empire 8 in goals scored, and he appeared in 19 games, making 17 starts. Shumway led the team with six game winning goals and added 33 groundballs while causing seven turnovers. In 12 games, Shumway recorded four or more points, including a career high five goals with two assists in a win over St. John Fisher College. Wenham appeared in and made 21 starts, causing 25 turnovers while collecting 45 groundballs for a Bomber defense that surrendered only 6.82 goals per game, 11th best in the country cool j&s nike shoes among Division III schools. Wenham was second on the team in caused turnovers, and fourth in groundballs. He added three points on one goal with two assists. Ithaca made its 13th appearance in NCAA's and fell to12 13 all time in NCAA tournament action. For the last five weeks of the season, the Bombers were ranked No. 1 in the country by both the USILA and Nike/Lacrosse Magazine.
